T1G (Tier 1 General) 비자연장 타임라인

3년짜리 T1G (Tier 1 General) 비자가 만료되어, 지난달에 직접 비자 연장 신청을 했다. 최근 최대 6개월까지 걸린다는 소문이 있어서, 올해 말까지 묶여있을 생각을 하고 있었는데 예상보다 훨씬 일직 처리 되었다.

4월 6일부터 비자 신청 서류가 바뀌었지만 크게 달라지지는 않아서 혼자서 준비하고 승인 받는데 별다른 어려움은 없었다. 당일신청 혹은 Agency를 통한 신청도 고려 해 보았으나, 준비할 내용이 거의 없고 거절될 사유가 전혀 없기 때문에 직접 하였다. 덕분에 여행 한번 다녀올 돈도 아꼈다. ^.^

곧 신청하실 분들이 참고할 수 있도록 간단한 내용을 요약하였다.

준비한 서류:

- 비자 신청 관련 내용을 요약한 cover letter

- T1G visa application form

- 증명사진

- 12개월치 bank statement 원본

- 12개월치 payslip

- 재직증명서

타임라인:

2013년 5월 1일 서류준비 시작

2013년 6월 4일 증명사진 촬영(£5)

2013년 6월 5일 접수 (£8)

2013년 6월 10일 UKBA에서 수표인출 확인함 (£1545)

2013년 6월 17일 신청서 접수 확인 편지 도착

2013년 6월 20일 바이오메트릭 편지 도착

2013년 6월 21일 우체국에서 바이오메트릭 등록 (£20)

2013년 7월 1일 UKBA로부터 approval letter 도착

I just have my application for the extension of T1G (Tier 1 General) visa approved. The entire documents are prepared by myself. Unexpectedly it just took about 25 days to receive the approval letter, totally different to what one of the agency said that it could take about 6 months at most. I think visa agencies exaggerate the situation to take advantage of naive people as usual. For those who are wondering about the timeline, I will shortly share it. 

Timeline for the T1G extension application:

5 JUN 2013 posted the application foam and supporting documents 

10 JUN 2013 UKBA withdrew £1545 from my bank account (applied with a cheque)

17 JUN 2013 Got a notification letter from UKBA saying that the application foam is accepted

20 JUN 2013 Got a letter for the biometric registration

21 JUN 2013 Registered my biometric information at a post office

1 JUL 2013 Got a approval letter
